Tawau – Lahad Datu Bypass

Like in the Northeast, the new highway in this region will spur the palm oil industry which Sabah is the commodity major producer in the country. The more convenient connectivity will also boost tourism industry in the southeast region of the State which offers beautiful islands and diving sites off Semporna. Meanwhile, the Lahad Datu Bypass will shorten the distance and travelling time without entering the town centre. The work packages are WP15 (Tawau-Semporna, 5km), WP16 (Tawau Airport-Sg. Kalumpang, 31km), WP17 (Sg. Kalumpang-Madai, 19km), WP18 (Madai-IGN Estate, 19km), WP19 (IGN Estate-Agri Harvest, 19km), WP20 (Agri Harvest-Sapagaya, 18km) and WP21 (Lahad Datu Bypass, 7km).
